Geology about Atlantis
Atlantis is the mystery for geologists, geophysics, seismologist, oceanologists as well as for historians, archaeologists, artists and people that investigate the ancient culture. There is no possibility to find the golden statues of goddesses and the temple of Poseidon in the waster of the ocean. The processes of erosion and many other natural processes damaged pitiless the traces of the Ancient civilizations.
The tectonic processes and the death of the continent were provoked by the natural changes. If to consider this problem from geological point of view than the main question is: did the micro-continent and the big archipelago exist at that time in reality that was destroyed by the natural disaster and was covered with water?
Not more than 20 years ago science considered the theory according to which the location of the land continents was unchangeable. This was the great argument in favour of the existence and the death of Atlantis.
However such conception is contradictable and doesn't correspond to the modern views on the tectonics of lithosphere according to which the continents can't sink into the water. Continents can't but archipelago can.
As you see the problem of Atlantic is investigated by people of different professions and this proves the importance and the interest Atlantis provokes. No doubt any discovery in this field is the precious element in the chain of the human development.
