The Minoan civilization or Atlantis
The connection of the Minoan civilization and Atlantis is obvious. Atlantis was described as well-developed country. The same can be said about the Minoan civilization. Atlantis was described to die in the result of catastrophe. And the Minoan civilization died in the same way.
According to Plato Atlantis was the maritime country. The same can be said about Minoans that had the great maritime Navy. Atlantis was considered to be situated on the island or the continent and the Minoan civilization was also situated on the Crete Island that was the centre of their country.
Plato also mentions that the Atlases had the big flocks of bulls. And the bull was considered to be the saint animal in the Minoan civilization. Divers found the moat at the bottom of the Aegean Sea near Tira that is similar to the one that surrounded the capital of the Atlantis according to Plato.
Nowadays the island Tira is the little part of what was left after the explosion of the great volcano. The ruins of the Minoan city were found in 1967 that were covered by the great level of the volcano dirt and these ruins were kept perfectly thanks to it. Archaeologists found a lot of coloured glasses and even the wooden objects here.
In 1976 the remains of the ancient Minoan civilization were found at the bottom of the Aegean Sea near the island Crete that was ruined by the greatest volcanic eruption.
