Where did it come from?

The mythological continent or the island of Atlantis was first described by Plato in 427-437 BC. He appealed to one of the greatest wise men of that epoch that was Solon. During his adventure about Egypt Plato wrote down the story of the priests of Ancient Egypt. They got it from the archaeological data and the written texts that were left from the ancient people more than thirty thousands years ago that came to us written on papyrus.

Atlantis was named in the honour of Atlas that was the brother of one of the titans Prometheus from the Greek mythology. According to Plato the mysterious continent was inhabited by atlases that were the powerful and fearful people that gained the greatest level of civilization development and that had the war with another state that existed on the place of Athens before Greek civilization.

There are several theories on the place where this country was situated. The general conception is that is was situated in the Atlantic Ocean and died more than 12 thousand years ago getting to the ocean flour in the result of natural catastrophe.

Aristotle that was the philosopher of ancient Greece and the pupil of Plato didn't share the conception of his teacher on the problem of Atlantis. He thought it was situated in the Mediterranean Sea.

These two scientists put the base for investigations that are not stopped till nowadays because humanity wants to put the final stop to the problem of Atlantis. But it is not put till nowadays.
